2016 Sally - Field Blend

What happens when your Chief Winemaker get so frustrated with the wily marketing of the ‘natural’ winemaker that he lashes out and crafts a singular wine just to show it can be done without faults and instability? What if that Chief Winemaker is also the General Manager, digs on Smokey and the Bandit, and gets naming rights to said wine? He calls it Sally*. Because it’s a field blend. And he thinks it’s hilarious. That’s what happens. 

We’re talking a single block planted to ten different grape varieties, nine of which have been harvested and fermented together to provide a unique expression of site and vintage.

Welcome to the 2016 Sally Field Blend. We’ve got 600 bottles.

It's Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Meunier, Gruner Veltliner and Gewurztraminer from one block. Harvested together. Fermented together.
