2019 Josef Chromy DELIKAT SGR Riesling (2019)

Riesling grapes were picked on 24th of March 2022 from Block 9 of the Josef
Chromy Vineyard. The grapes were pressed and the juice clarified prior to
fermentation in stainless steel tank.
The cool fermentation lasted 10 days, capturing delicate aromatics and was
then stopped before the last of the sugar was converted to alcohol, retaining
some of the grape’s natural sweetness.
The wine was left to settle and mature for several months in the tank prior
to fining, stabilisation, and clarification operations. Finished wine was
bottled in late July 2022.

Delikat (Czech for delicate) is a crisp, refreshing Riesling with approx 60 grams per litre of residual sugar (SGR sixty grams residual) and low alcohol.

Wonderfully aromatic with lifted cumquat blossom, honeysuckle, kaffir lime leaf and freshly peeled mandarin.

The palate is dynamic, building in weight and texture while remaining light-footed and lacy. Lemon sorbet, developing into lemon meringue, biscuit and toasted rice.
