Wine Details

Vintage: 2024

Alcohol%: 13.5

Winemakers Notes

Pinot Noir grapes from our Relbia Estate Vineyard were picked in mid March at optimal ripeness for Rose’ production, destemmed, and allowed to rest on the skins for a few hours until desired colour pick up was achieved.
The must was then transferred into the press, where the free-flowing juice (the “free run”) was separated from the harder pressings. Using only the free run portion in the production of this Rose’, allows us to keep the phenolics (bitter/astringent flavours) in check and to maximise fruit purity and aromatic expression.
The free run juice was clarified before a cool alcoholic fermentation kicked off. A small percentage inclusion of Riesling was carried out post fermentation for added freshness and citrusy drive.
The resulting wine was left in tank for a short maturation on lees to build body and texture. It was then gently fined, filtered and bottled in late September 2024.

Winemaking

Colour: Medium salmon with a pink hue

Aroma: Inviting nose, packed with red fruit and floral aromas of strawberries and cream, fresh raspberries, rose petals, blushed peach skin and a hint of white chocolate.

Palate: The wine is juicy and moreish. Flavours of raspberry, peach and blood orange are supported by refreshing acidity and a savoury finish. The wine has a good texture, silky tannins and a lovely phenolic grip – a true “gastro wine”!

Grapes: Pinot Noir (80%), Riesling (20%)
